Tours - In Tours mode you can view descriptions of menu options and the material available within them. From theMain Menu press the SELECT key to view a description of the highlighted menu option. Press the down arrow key to display the MAIN MENU in the Tours mode. Press the BACK button to EXIT Tours mode. Countries - From this option you can choose many topics of interest for a particular country. For example, you could listen to traditional music, view city maps, and learn interesting facts about a country by selecting MUSIC, CITYMAPS, and FACTS topics of COUNTRIES. Press down arrow key to view COUNTRIES topics & the SELECT key for topic info. Bookshelf - From this option you can choose a topic of interest for a particular country. For example, you could listen to traditional music from several countries from the CULTURE option of the BOOKSHELF. Press the down arrow key to view the BOOKSHELF topics. Press the SELECT key to bring help for the highlighted topic.Maps - From this option, you can view a detailed map of a country and selected cities by zooming in on an area of the world map. Regions and countries are are highlighted in alphabetical order. Maps: page 1 of 6 World Map Level - Use the up and down arrow keys to move the highlight from continent to continent. To view a view a continent's map, press the SELECT button when it is highlighted and its name is displayed at the top. Maps: page 2 of 6 Continent Map Level - Use the up and down arrow keys to move the highlight from country to country in descending orascending alphabetical order. To view a particular country, press the SELECT button when it is highlighted and its name is displayed at the bottom of the map. Maps: page 3 of 6 Country Locater Map Level - The first map displayed will show the country's location in its region. You can view a detailed map of the country by pressing the SELECT button. If the country is defined by several sections, use the arrow keys to move the highlight to the area of the map at which you would like to enter. Maps: page 4 of 6 Detailed Country Map Level - When this map is displayed you can pan around to view other sections of the map with the arrow keys. Cities that are marked with a red circle have a map available. If the marked city is in view, press the SELECT button to view and pan around that city's map. Maps: page 5 of 6 If the country Locater Map showed more than one section,you will be able to panonly through the section that you entered from the Locater Map. At the edge of each section, the #7 button willjump to the next nearest section withouthaving to return to the Locater Map level. Maps: page 6 of 6 Topics - From this option you can directly choose from all the searchable topics included in all the World Vista options to view that material for a particular country. Use the up and down arrow keys to highlight a topic andpress the SELECT key. Choose the first letter of a country name. Use the up and Topics: page 1 of 2 down arrow keys to highlight a country and press the SELECT button to retrieve the selected information for that country. Topics: page 2 of 2 Information - From this option, you can read about the contributors and the producers of World Vistas through ABOUT.You can read descriptions of the menu options and find the routes to material of interest through TOURS. You can learnabout the key functions of the remote device through REMOTE. Maps - From this option you can choose either the map of a particular country or a thematic map depicting the geographical distribution of several topics of cultural, social, natural or economic importance. Use the up and down arrow keys to move through the list of country names or Maps: page 1 of 5 topics and press the SELECT button to view maps of the highlighted item. For country maps you must choose the first letter of the country name to view the list. Maps: page 2 of 5 Country Locator Map Level - The country locator map shows the country's locationwithin its region. You can view a detailed map of the country by pressing the SELECT button. Languages - From the culture option you will be offered several phrases spoken in the dominant language of the selectedcountry. Use the SELECT key when a phrase is highlighted to hear it spoken. Culture: page 2 of 4 Images - Use the up and down arrow keys to page through pictures. To view captions for a picture, press the left arrow key. Culture: page 3 of 4 Music - Use the up and down arrow keys to move through the list of countries and press the SELECT key to hear traditional music for the selected country. Culture: page 4 of 4 Facts - From this option you can view data relating to the People, the Politics, the Economics, and the Geography of a particular country. In each case choose the first letter of a country name to open the index at that point. Facts: page 4 of 4 Details - From this option you can read descriptions of the people, economy, land, history, and politics of selected countries. In each case choose the firstletter of a country name to open the index at that point. Use the up and downarrow keys to move through a list of country names and press the SELECT button to read the descriptions. City Maps - From this option you can view and pan around detailed maps of selected major cities of the world. You must choose the first letter of the name of the city you want. Use the up and down arrow keys to move through a list of city names and press the SELECT button to view the map of the highlighted city. Flags - From this option you can view the flag of most countries. Choose the first letter of a country name to open the index at that point. Use the up and down arrow keys to move through a list of country names and press the SELECT button to view that country's flag. Language - You can listen to several phrases spoken in a particular language. Choose the first letter of a language to open the index at that point. Use the up and down arrow keys to move through a list and press the SELECT button when a name is highlighted.
